Essay：Outline

I'll write an essay about immigrants. My research question is “How should Japanese government take in immigrants?” Here is my roughly outline of it.

Should Japanese Government Take in Immigrants ?

Thesis Statement

Japanese government need to shift paradigm from the populous society toward the less populous society. Japan should be going to take in immigrants in the future but some work to do before that. In other words, Japanese government should prepare for accepting immigrants and after the preparation Japanese Government should take in immigrant.

I.                   Introduction

A.    Japanese situation of decreasing population

Eg1. There was a village where any baby was not born in Japan in 2006.

Eg2. Figure which shows us Japanese population forecast.

II.                Background information

A.    Main problems which might be triggered by decreasing population

1.      Decline in economic power (Major)

2.      Impact on social security (Minor)

III.             Merits of taking in immigrants

1.      Supplement the population and labor force

2.      Have more opportunities to contact with other cultures

IV.             Can immigrants solve these problems? (introduction of opposing arguments)

1.      Immigrants will make economical gap between them and original Japanese

2.      How to live with them?

Eg1. “Merkel said German multicultural society has failed.”

→I want to say that it is not only solution for preventing decreasing populations and economic power to take in immigrants.

V.                Solution

Make society where women can work with confidence.

1. appeal to people who want to come Japan

2.Before resorting immigrants, Japanese government should do its best.

VI.             Conclusion

          It is impossible to take in immigrants into Japan immediately and to prepare for declining in economic power because as Max Frisch said “We called for guest workers, and human beings came.”(Atoh 2007). they are people before workers. It indicates to welcome them to Japan that Japanese government is responsible for their happiness because they are inhabitants in Japan. Before accepting them, Japanese should have prospect of accepting immigrants and should make a society where women can work with confidence.
